Two recent book covers using die-cut circles in the dust jackets. Both are really nice! The Watergate cover was designed by Paul Sahre, and the Religion for Atheists was by Matt Dorfman (pretty sure I saw this book today but with a really boring cover).
Found both of these via Jacket Mechanical, the blog of book designer Peter Mendelsund.
